A CHRISTMAS DREAM
To celebrate twenty years of the Lord’s faithfulness, Ballet Magnificat! presents its most ambitious production ever. Set to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Artistic Director and Choreographer, Kathy Thibodeaux, takes on a new direction and blends the excitement of a full-length ballet with the heart of the Christmas story. A Christmas Dream, set in the mid-19th century, tells the story of a young girl, Katherine, who receives a special gift from her missionary grandfather. The impact of his bequest unfolds in a dream portrayed through this wondrous production. An international cast of over 150 dancers comprised of the two Ballet Magnificat! professional companies, trainees, and students from the School of the Arts, enhanced by over 300 costumes, spectacular scenery and sets, and excellent cinematography, celebrates the greatness and goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ.

HIDING PLACE
Placed in the war zone of Dutch Haarlem in 1944, Hiding Place is a portrayal of divinely inspired forgiveness in the midst of desperate and unimaginable circumstances. The Ballet Magnificat! Omega Company taps into the struggle of two sisters, Corrie and Betsie ten Boom, as they search for possibilities to help their life-long Jewish neighbors and friends obtain security, found in a small hiding place built in the wall of their home, only to be discovered and transported to the concentration camp of Ravensbrück to face struggles far exceeding their wildest imagination. Choreographer Jiri Sebastian Voborsky unveils this heroic story with a great level of drama, passion, pain, yet joy, and ultimately hope, as he brings before the audience the challenge to believe the unbelievable – the power of forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

RUTH
RUTH, a rich, full-length production showcases the technical strengths of Ballet Magnificat! The elaborate lighting, sets, scenery and colorful costuming highlight a ballet that depicts the human experiences of loss, loneliness, love, and ultimately hope. The cinematography captures the passion and powerful experience of live theater.
Set in Spain and America in the early 1900s, choreographer Jiri Sebastian Voborsky puts a contemporary spin on this Biblical story of tragedy and redemption. Naomi and daughter-in-law, Ruth, are bound together by their shared grief. The two women sail for America, Naomi's home, to begin a new life. Upon arrival, Ruth is denied entrance. Boaz redeems the situation by purchasing Ruth's citizenship in the New World. This parallels the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who paid the price for our salvation.

Unveiled Hope is a dramatic portrayal of events in the book of Revelation and is set to melodies from Michael Card’s album of the same name. Combined, their efforts create a resonant offering of praise and glory to the King of Kings – the God of yesterday, today, and forever.

Filmed at The Carpenter’s Home Church in Lakeland, FL. This first video by Ballet Magnificat! is technically excellent and uplifting. Featuring Kathy Thibodeaux’s moving performance of "We Shall Behold Him," for which she won the silver medal in the II USA International Ballet Competition in 1982. "Joy" is set to the wonderful Christmas music of Steve Green, "Sandi Songs" features three of Sandi Patti’s most famous songs, including the touching "Via Dolorosa". "Thy Kingdom Come," with music performed by Steve Fry, looks forward to the rule of Jesus Christ on earth.

Life After Lucy

The curious hands of a two-year-old boy picked up a set of drumsticks in 1953, and that single incident propelled him into one of television’s most famous roles, as "Little Ricky," the son of a charming Cuban bandleader and his mercurial wife, on the hit series, "I Love Lucy." Now the only surviving cast member of TV’s crown jewel of sitcoms, Keith Thibodeaux, now Executive Director of Ballet Magnificat!, recalls growing up in the box that brought him fame, and his subsequent Life After Lucy.
