From Joanna Ahlman, former Trainee and Alpha Company dancer

The Lord has been overwhelmingly faithful to direct me into his purposes. He’s been the voice behind me saying "This is the way, walk in it". I have been going to school and teaching ballet, dancing and choreographing for The Columbus Ballet since 2002. In 2005, I went to Africa for the summer with an organization called Overland Missions. Summer of 2006, I went back again and helped lead expedition style mission teams into W. Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. This past semester, the Lord led me to go to S. Korea to study art (primarily Korean painting and ceramics) in Seoul. I also got to get a view of what the Lord was doing in that part of the world and connected with several churches and a variety of individuals.

I am currently in the States working with a multi-arts production whose vision is to proclaim the Gospel through the combination of media, dance, drama and theatrical elements. I am choreographing and dancing for the production and love being part of a greater whole. I am also in school taking correspondence classes in order to finish my Associates before acquiring a Bachelors in Theology/Missions. I am also on staff with Overland and am working to develop a curriculum for a new branch of the organization that is called Advanced Missions Training. This is a intensive three month training that will train young adults with both the practical skills (4 by 4 off-roading, GPS navigation, welding, EMT medical training, cultural communication, knowledge of political and religious structures, welding, diesel mechanics, etc.) and spiritual training along with theological cementing. I will be helping to lead this course (teaching the cultural side of it as well as facilitating and helping disciple) in Livingstone Zambia from mid-April to beginning of September. After that, the Lord is faithful to expertly direct. I am challenged to simply abide, trust, obey and love him!

LAUREN ROBERTS KEY

Hi everyone!! This is Lauren Key but you all know me as Lauren Roberts!! I danced with the Belhaven group from '95 to '98 and was a trainee from '98 to 2000. ( I think:)

My life in a nutshell...I have been married to Harrison Key for 4 years this past March. He also went to Belhaven and that is where we met. We have a little girl named Trudy Simmons Key named after my mom Trudy who passed away in Feb. of '03. We call her Simmons and she will be a year old this May.

We are currently living in Savannah, GA where my husband is the speech writer for the president of  Savannah College of Art and Design. We've only live here since Feb. so everything is still very new to us. I am a stay at home mom and love every second of it. It is my calling without a doubt. God had placed this desire to be a mom since I was little and I'm so thankful that He has blessed us financially to where I can do that.

Ever since the death of my mom, God has been teaching me to store up treasures in heaven and not to put so much time and heart into to things of this world. He has also truly been the Great Comforter in my times of loneliness. I have been really struggling with loneliness lately, being in a new city and having no friends. I'm praying that God will bring me friends through our church and Sunday school and am trying to wait on His timing.

I was teaching ballet up until a few years ago but haven't really done anything in a while. I'm actually going to take a class this morning provided by the college. This should be very interesting being that I'm incredibly out of shape!!! We'll see how it goes. I always miss dancing and miss the dancers figure as well:) Hopefully I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning.

I miss you all and hope to hear updates from everyone else.
