She was born June 21, the first day of summer!!! They announced their retirement from dancing at the final performance of “A Christmas Festival” in December in Jackson, MS. Cassandra’s husband, Jiri, will be joining her off the road in August as the two of them take charge of the Trainee Program. They are the parents of Benjamin, who turned three in May. Jiri will not tour with the company beginning in the fall, but will perform occasional guest appearances. In addition to his leadership of the Trainee Program, Jiri will be the Director of Ballet Magnificat!’s second touring company, Ballet Magnificat! II. Please pray for Alex Nazario, husband of our beloved Ballet Mistress, Sol Nazario. Alex left Oct. 27th to join an Army National Guard unit training at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Miss. THE WEDDING: On Saturday evening, December 11, 2004, Company Dancer Hannah Kennedy married Company Tour Director Phillip Beaver, in a beautiful and touching ceremony conducted by Hannah’s dad, which included a song by the groom to the bride and a time of blessing of the couple by special family and friends. Traditional vows were recited along with vows written by the bride and groom to each other. ![]() Veteran Summer Workshop counselors, Maria Katanic, Lori Plyler, Patti Altman and Sarah Altman, all from California, blessed the company and staff by flying in for “the wedding” and staying for the weekend performances of “A Christmas Festival”. As usual, they pitched in where needed. Christmas travelers:
Keith and Kathy traveled to Spain to visit with daughter Tara and husband, Bryce. The newlyweds were in Valencia, Spain for 6 weeks while Bryce, a professional basketball player, filled in for an injured Spanish player. Phillip and Hannah Beaver, married December 11, 2004, postponed their honeymoon until the Company’s Christmas break. They spent several days in Cancun, Mexico, enjoying the sun and sand.
Jiri and Cassandra Voborsky flew to the Czech Republic to visit with Jiri’s mother and other family members. Leaving Benjamin with his grandmother, the couple flew on to Egypt for an early fifth wedding anniversary trip. Jiri said, "I really enjoy the culture and their realness. They experience and enjoy every moment of life." During the 3-week Christmas break, other Company members headed back to their respective homes around the country. Company members were asked to list some of their highlights for 2004, and these are some of the responses:
Christina Hudson - (1) The trip to Costa Rica in June. This was a very anointed trip! I really enjoyed having Sol along. The highlight was the Creative Worships - to see so many people interceding for their country through dancing, stomping, shouting, weeping - it was amazing! (2) The Summer Workshop in July. The workshop is always "the highlight" of my year! What a privilege it is to get to teach and counsel so many young people. (3) The September Tour! Pushing the bus up a hill was definitely a faith builder! I think during the whole tour we felt like we were "pushing" that bus. I believe that through the Lord and only His strength, we were able to persevere. I'll never forget that feeling of energy and excitement as the Lord enabled us to do the impossible. Kristin Hill - (1) Costa Rica - the Creative Worship and getting to see my uncle who lives there. (2) Prevost parking lot rehearsals! (3) Pushing the bus in LA. Alyssa Alexander - (1) Costa Rica - the Creative Worships and Mimi (the cook). (2) The September Tour - dancing in my home town (San Diego), the bus breaking down, spending a week in Bend, OR. (3) Summer Workshop - getting to know the students and seeing the Lord work in their lives. Jiri Voborsky - (1) Vacation with Cassandra in Egypt. (2) Costa Rica - Creative Worships and performances in San Jose. Betsy Green - (1) Spending time with the body of Christ in beautiful Costa Rica. (2) Pushing the bus! J "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" (3) Erin Beaver (my old roommate) coming back to Ballet Magnificat! Katie Garwood - (1) September Tour - Dancing in Massachusetts for my parents and aunt and cousin Karen. The sponsors there were so excited about our coming - visions came to one lady in particular, prophesying the Spiritual opening of the Northeast area. (2) Pushing the bus - pushing through hardship on our 5-week long tour - and the multitude of blessings in between. (3) The every day blessing of working with Godly people for the glory of the gospel - daily being grown, changed and challenged - PRICELESS! Ballet Magnificat II Newsby Erin BeaverAs we watch the Lord taking the ministry of Ballet Magnificat! to new heights, we are excited to see Him opening opportunities for Ballet Magnificat! II (the second touring division) to perform around the nation. This group of fifteen enjoyed a wonderful touring season last fall and is in full swing with the spring season. On January 20th the troupe returned from a tour to Alabama and Georgia. They taught creative worship classes to adults and children as well as ballet, jazz and modern. They were able to join with area artists in Gadsden, Alabama, who have a desire to reclaim the arts for Christ during the Worship Arts Weekend of Gadsden. The Lord moved powerfully and many hearts were encouraged and strengthened. In Columbus, Georgia, they brought the Gospel in to a secular dance studio as they taught master classes and performed for the students. The group is preparing for upcoming tours which will take them to Kansas, Illinois, Michigan, New York, and Massachusetts before May. They are also gearing up for a special mission trip to New York City in April with Project Dance. Ballet Magnificat II will have the opportunity to perform in Times Square and do street evangelism. If you would like to help financially support the dancers for this mission trip, please call our offices for Erin Beaver. This is an exciting time in the ministry of Ballet Magnificat! as we are blessed to share His news about the world! ------------------------------------------- Yep, God is good - all the time!
