HURRICANE UPDATE Ballet Magnificat! is grateful for God's protection and grace from the destruction which has followed hurricane Katrina. Our facilities have suffered very minimal damage, leaving only a few power lines down and few scrapes. Also, our sign on the building was ripped off the front. The free standing sign was shriveled on the sides as well. We are using the studio as shelter for some from New Orleans who are friends that need power and showers etc...The dancers and staff were all protected from the waters and winds which blew through the south on Monday, August 26th. The city of Jackson is recovering as electricity is becoming more and more available, roads are clearing and business are beginning to reopen. The biggest problem for all of us is finding gas for our cars, hampering some from being able to come in to conserve fuel. We are supposed to be getting more soon... Many people fled to Jackson to escape destruction and continue to wait in anticipation for news concerning the state of their homes. The city of Jackson is housing about 1500 refugees at the coliseum downtown. Ballet Magnificat! is making plans to perform for those who have been displaced by the storm; desiring to bring relief and hope through the message of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your prayers and concern as the South recovers from the hurricane. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
