The People of Ballet Magnificat!
School FacultyJessica Brock, originally from Bay Village, Ohio, received her early training from Classical Academy of Dance in the R.A.D. Syllabus, and in high school studied at the Cleveland Ballet. In the fall of 1994, Jessica entered the dance program with Ballet Magnificat! at Belhaven University where she was trained in the Vaganova/Cecchetti methods. In the summer of 1996, Jessica toured with Hosanna Sacred Arts, a company based in Birmingham, AL. She became a Trainee with Ballet Magnificat! in the fall of 1996, and in February 1997, Jessica was promoted to a company member, touring nationally and internationally until the fall of 2001.
During her time as a company dancer, Jessica set several pieces of choreography on the company and Ballet Magnificat II. She has also set choreography for Turning Pointe School of Dance in Holland, MI, and Briarwood Ballet in Birmingham, AL.
Jessica began teaching ballet, tap, & jazz during high school for Classical Academy of Dance. During her time as a Ballet Magnificat! company member, she taught ballet & jazz at their annual Summer Dance Intensives, Jessica later taught in their Trainee Program. She has also taught at Summer Intensives for Turning Pointe School of Dance in Holland, MI, and master classes for Briarwood Ballet in Birmingham, AL. Jessica was Director/Instructor for The Dance Program at First Presbyterian Church in Kosciusko, MS, and later became Co-Director/Instructor of Center Pointe Dance Academy in Clinton, MS, from 2006-2012, before joining the teaching of staff of Ballet Magnificat! School of the Arts in the fall of 2012, teaching in both the upper and lower schools. In 2014, she became the School of the Arts Director.
Jessica and husband Jason are the parents of Ana, Kailyn, Aubrey, Kaleb, and Samantha.
