Tuition & Financial Aid

We desire for the Ballet Magnificat! Trainee Program to provide excellent professional training while keeping tuition as accessible as possible. Below you’ll find an overview of tuition, program fees, anticipated additional expenses, and opportunities for scholarships and fundraising.

Tuition

Annual tuition for the Ballet Magnificat! Trainee Program is $3,600. Tuition for male trainees is 50% of the standard rate, or $1,800 annually.

Tuition can be divided into nine monthly installments of $400 ($200 for men), paid September through May. Tuition payments are processed through Studio Pro, our online registration and payment system. Tuition is charged on the 1st of each month, with auto-pay options available through Studio Pro that run on the 5th of each month. A $25 late fee is applied to payments received after the 10th.

Additional information regarding payment policies and enrollment is provided to trainees upon acceptance into the program.

Additional Program Fees

In addition to tuition, trainees should plan for the following smaller program-related fees to be paid at the time of registration:

  • Registration Fee
    $25 for first-year trainees/$10 for returning trainees

  • Costume Fee
    $50

  • Bible Study Fee
    $25

  • Workout Equipment Fee
    $25

Planning for Living Expenses

Tuition does not include housing, groceries, transportation, dancewear and shoes, or other personal living expenses. Trainees are responsible for arranging and paying for their own housing and typically share apartments or houses with other trainees. Ballet Magnificat! staff assists incoming trainees with the housing process, and all trainee housing must be approved by the Trainee Program. Please see the Housing & Student Life page for more details.

Project Dance

Our Trainee Program typically participates in Project Dance each year, giving dancers an opportunity to perform, take class, and participate in outreach alongside dancers from around the country.

Project Dance is an additional expense and varies from year to year depending on the location and whether travel is required. When the event is held locally in Jackson, trainees can generally expect the total cost to be under $200. Events requiring travel will involve additional transportation and lodging expenses.

Trainees may fundraise toward approved Project Dance expenses.

International Ministry Opportunities

International ministry and touring are an exciting part of the experience for many of our upper-level trainees. Trainee Two and Trainee Three dancers typically have opportunities to participate in international trips during their time in the program.

The cost of an international trip varies based on destination, airfare, length of travel, and other expenses, but trainees can generally anticipate a fundraising goal of approximately $2,000–$4,000 for an international trip.

Rather than expecting trainees to cover these costs entirely out of pocket, Ballet Magnificat! provides an opportunity for participating dancers to raise financial support through our deputized fundraising program. Trainees receive guidelines and resources to help them invite friends, family members, churches, and others to partner with them financially in these Ballet Magnificat! international ministry opportunities.

International travel opportunities, locations, and costs vary from year to year and are not guaranteed for every trainee.

Scholarships & Financial Assistance

Ballet Magnificat! offers a number of scholarship and financial assistance opportunities for eligible trainees. Availability and qualifications vary by scholarship, and some awards are made by Ballet Magnificat! rather than through an application process.

Love of Life Scholarship

The Love of Life Scholarship provides full Trainee Program tuition for one year, as well as the annual Costume and Bible study fees. Eligible applicants are Asian Americans living in the United States with foreign-born parents who have completed the audition process and been accepted into the Trainee Program. Previous recipients are not eligible to receive the scholarship again.

The scholarship does not cover housing or other living expenses. To apply: Application Form and headshot should be mailed to Ballet Magnificat! along with the registration forms after acceptance into the Trainee Program.

Rose Faucher Scholarship

The Rose Faucher Scholarship is awarded annually to a second or third year female trainee selected by Ballet Magnificat! based on the qualifications established for the scholarship. This scholarship is not application-based; eligible trainees are considered by program leadership.

Recipients also participate in designated costume department service throughout the year as part of the responsibilities associated with the scholarship.

Additional Financial Assistance

Other financial assistance may also be available to qualifying international trainees. Because availability and eligibility may vary from year to year, prospective trainees are encouraged to contact the Trainee Program for additional information.
